A Day in Sadaoby

Kiki smiles sadly "I'm doing fine...But the others...arn't doing so well.." She says, it was then that the group could hear soft whispers and gowling eyes that filled the room, she clears her thorat and the whispers stoped and the eyes disapper. "All the grown -up have been taken.." She explaines how the Night Crawlers constently attacked the village each time taking more and more of the adults.

Meanwhile Crow was up the stairs and slowly opened an old worn door reveling a large dust covered room, craked web covered flasks and glass jars sat on a small table large maps and cases of suppiles sat around the room. But what drew her attion to a small web covered box on bed she walked over to it and with shaking hands whipes the dust away an opened it.

Slowly a soft sad tune filled the room when into the hall and down the stairs. She sat on the bed listening to the music slowly letting her mind drift away to memories before her mind was shattered.

Cassie frowned, looking down at the little girl in shock. 

"The adults are gone?" She asked inquisitively. The mermaid had to hold on tight to her mug to make sure she didn't drop it, she didn't want to have to clean up a mess. "Where'd they go? Why'd the Crawlers take them?" Cassie demanded in a flurry, taking a sip of the tea to calm herself.

Vastile sat back in the sofa and quietly listened to the little girl and the quiet music drifting from a room above. Behind the lenses of hid glasses, his eyes remained shut, organizing the facts, while taking in the new ones.

He remained solid as statue, while the others spoke.

Crow after the melodey ended, got up sliped the box in her bag gently before grabing a large map along with a few other things and with one last look into the old room gave a sigh closed the door and made her way down the stairs her eyes dark as her mind was sent swiming with thoughts.

Meanwhile Kiki was listening patently to Cassies questions, before taking a deep breath and with a clam maturity not camoon in a girl her age spoke. "I think towards the swamps, they don't like bright lights and seem stick around the dark damp areas.." She sips her tea "I'm not sure why they are taking them...But since they started...they have been multiplying...at a very fast rate..It took thirty of them to my uncle Leo down...and that was after him being bitten.." She says grinding her teeth slowly.

"Leo?" Cassie asked curiously, "Uncle? That would mean...." Cassie frowned, piecing together the new information. "Uncle...so Crow's brother." She concluded, staring into her tea's surface, biting the inside of her cheek in thought. 

"Down by the swamp...." She muttered, but then closed her mouth, instead, silently brooding.

"The very same one who sent that little interesting avian and the note..." Vastile nodded.

"If our little host here is correct, then we have a good lead. We used to get infestations of large rats back on Elbaf, we all quickly learned there was only one way to stop an infestation." Vastile tipped his hat up and look out of an old window. "You've got to take it out from the source."

Vastile stood up and swung his large wrench onto his shoulders. "Based on this new bit on trivia, I just got from our dear little one, I think I'm going to make an alteration or two to our ride. Take care of the other little ones, now." Vastile strode past Crow and tipped his hat and smiled, then making his way outside to his Beautiful Monster.

"I think it's time I use this bright idea to make you a little more... Luminous."

Crow walked down the stairs humming the tune softly to herself nodding as her captain walked towards the fornt door. She then sat her self down beside the young girl placing a hand on her head as she devoured a brownie whole.

Noticing Cassie being rather quiet Crow leans over the table and pokes Cassie on the cheek, pauses and pokes her again doing this multiple times as Kiki watches a large sweat drop running down the side of her head.

"Did I put to much sugar in this batch..?" She mutters to herself.

Cassie barely noticed when her captain got up and left, not even hearing what he had said. She was thinking quietly to herself, her brows creased in concentration. It wasn't until Crow poked her in the cheek multiple times that Cassie refocused. 

"What?" She asked irritably, turning to face Crow.

Vastile tinkered away at his creation. His wrench spun and his hands worked. He removed the mounted gun and tossed them into the trunk at the back, he removed a single flame dial from each of his gauntlets, and began to mount them onto The Copper Dragon.

Vastile looked around the courtyard, in hopes of finding something to use. He walked back inside the building, fixing his gauntlets, and placing them back onto his hands.

"Crow, do you have any... Electrical Sconces or light sources around?"

Crow was about to speck to Cassie her eyes dazed a bit. She then turned to Vastile and taps her chin slowly. "Electrical Sconces?...Hmmm..." She walks over to a closet, opened it and started sorting through it, throwing out things now and then. An old hat, a rubber chicken a photo album.

After a moment or two she suddenly grunted and came out with a large box stuffed with Sconces. Handing them to her captain she smiles wide "Hope these work well enough." She says before turn in the spot

"Now if you'll excuse me..." She says before picking up her daughter. "I have some things to take care of."

She says before walking out the door in such a flash if caused a few papers to dance in the breeze. but someone else was missing. It seemed that Crow had not only dragged her daughter but also Cassie towards something that one could guess was a bathhouse.

Cassie had been ignoring everything that happened, and only snapped back to reality when she realized she was being dragged along with Crow and Kiki. She had to take a moment to remember how to speak before saying

"Uh, Crow?" she muttered, staring around the room. It was large, and Cassie could tell it was a bath house. The corners of her mouth turned up a bit to form a tiny smile at the idea of water. The mermaid's scales were starting to feel dry...

Splashes echoed throughout the large room as a towel warped Crow and Kiki jumped into the warm filled waters the room was warm and steam filled creating a relaxing atmosphere. "Come on Cassie the waters fine" Crow says as she watches Kiki swim in the deeper side of the pool like bath a large rubber duckie floaty around her waist.

From where she sat at the edge some of her larger scars were visible. A stitch like scar could be seen on the back of her neck normally covered by her collar, most likely spanning to her front as well. A possible decapitation attempt?

On her right shoulder a large bite mark like scar could be seen the marks almost looked like.... human teeth, Like someone had tried to take a large chunk out of her shoulder.

Lastly the largest looking scar on her back a jagged deep looking Y shaped scar reaching from the end of her shoulders to meet at her spine and then going down along it vanishing under the towel.

It looked as if someone had cut opened her back as if to pull out her spine. It was clearly the most painful and oldest looking scar.

Crow looked back at Cassie an eye brow raised, "Well come on then."

Had Cassie been holding something, she would have dropped it right then. Luckily she wasn't, and therefore couldn't break anything. The scars that seemed to cover Crow's body jumped out at Cassie, shocking her to stillness.

"C-Crow! What happened to you?" She finally managed to say after a moment's pause, regaining her conscious mind. She frowned, her brows creasing. She floated to the edge of the water, slipping out of the bubble and under the surface. Her eyes were trained carefully on Crow's horrid scars.

Crow turns to Cassie blinking in confustion for a moment before falowing her gaze to her scars "Oh..." She says in realizatiion "Nothing really...Torture,surgeries you know the usual stuff”She runs her hand over part of the scar on her back. "Cant remember how I got this one though, Had it since I was a kid." She says before sinking deeper in the water.

Meanwhile hidden in the steam a Mini Surveillance Den Den Mushi observed as the two wemon talked. Somewhere on the other side of the Island a shadowed figure watched as they talked a wide smile on their face "Bring the little birdie back to her cage wont you?" The shadow speaks to a rather large and disfigured NightCrawler.

Cassie frowned, her brows creasing at Crow's easy response. Sensing it wasn't something to ask about, she swam farther into the pool. Her tail swished in the water, keeping her head just above the surface.

"Uh, alright then." She added, realizing she hadn't responded. She wanted to ask more, but decided against it.

Crow watched as her daughter swim up to Cassie her eyes wide and sparkling with wonder and curiosity as she started asking her questions. "Are all Mermaids as pretty as you?" "How can you breathe on land and under water?" "How do mermaids have babies?" at the last question crow was about to speak up to scold her daughter when a monstrous roar ripped though the air it sounded far away but was soon fallowed up by dozens of closer sounding roars "That...That doesn't sound good" She says with a slight glup.

Cassie felt a blush creeping to her cheeks at the girl's first question, and was about to reply to her second when a terrifying sound tore through the air. She let out a gasp, instinctively lowering herself into the water, so much so that only her eyes were visible. Her tail beat against the water, keeping herself just surfaced, hair catching in the slow current.

"W-what was that?" Cassie cried in fear, eyes wide with horror. Instantly, she swam straighter, keeping herself higher in the water as embarrassment flooded her cheeks. "I-I mean, where did it come from?" Her hand itched for the edge of the bath, where her bag waited with her crossbow. "What can we do?" She asked more firmly, using her other hand-still in the water-to create a few water arrows, "Crow, what are we going to do?"
